The education of our children is important to the society that we live in. It is our duty to develop the child as a whole and as well as educating the child we aim to develop a child’s moral compass to ensure that this the vision for the society to which we aspire.
At St Margaret Mary Catholic Primary School, we place Christ at the centre of all our lives and in all everyday tasks. The ethos of our school is where that centres on liturgical prayers
If the education of our young people is an important building block of the society in which we live and an indication of the vision for that society to which we aspire, then even more so are our Catholic schools central to the Church’s mission.
Unless a school has Christ at the very heart of all that it is and does, it cannot be a Catholic school. The ethos of our schools is not something extrinsic to the various aspects of a school’s life – rather, the Catholic ethos and its concrete expression in liturgical prayer, assemblies and the teaching of religious education.
Our job, at the Saint Ninian Federation, is to develop the moral compass of both our children and staff and in doing so promote the teachings of Christ. Over the academic year we aim to deliver an extensive package, including relevant staff CPD, to aid the spiritual formation of all of our school family.
